The One month strike embarked by the Nut Enugu state wing which directed all the primary schools teachers in the state to embark on strike from the 9th of May have been suspended. In a press release signed by the State Chairman of the Union Comrade Nweke Odo and the State Secretary Sir Macs F O Nnaji,the suspension of the strike embarked by the union to press their demand for the state government to pay the minimum wage of thirty thousand naira as agreed by the government but failed to implement is now Suspended today.

The statement noted that as a result of the Governors intervention and other well meaning individuals to look into their grievance and come up with a Solution the state wing Executive council met and decided to suspend the strike action even though the state government went to industrial court to stop the strike but failed. The statement noted that the strike is hereby suspended and all teachers are instructed to go back to their classes as the Union wait the outcome of the Governors intervention the statement concluded.
